If you're over 18, legally competent and own property, having a valid will in place is vital to protect your loved ones from circumstances such as this, in the event you die suddenly. Your will is an important legal document that allows you to name your beneficiaries and have control on how you would like your estate to be distributed following your death. Apart from the benefit of being able to choose where your property goes, dying without a will can cause disastrous consequences for your family after your death and be a costly and stressful exercise for your loved ones.

In some circumstances such as this article, not having a will can result in your spouse or partner losing the home you share together and in all circumstances, there will be delay in your loved ones receiving your assets
