🎙️ SBS Tamil Radio Interview | Important Update for Indian Students Planning to Study in Australia 🇦🇺🇮🇳

I was interviewed by SBS Tamil Radio — one of Australia’s national public radio broadcasters — to discuss the recent changes to Australia’s student visa assessment process, especially for applicants from **India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan**.

From January 2026, these countries have moved into a higher scrutiny category, which means:
🔹 More detailed financial documents
🔹 Stronger verification of education records
🔹 Clear proof of English language ability
🔹 Possible delays due to additional checks
❗ This does NOT mean student visas are closed or banned.
Genuine students with proper documents can still obtain visas — but shortcuts will no longer work.

📊 Key fact:
Indian students make up **around 30% of all international students in Australia**, which is why this change matters.

In the **SBS Tamil Radio interview**, I explain in simple terms:
✔ Why Australia introduced these changes
✔ What “Evidence Level” really means
✔ How Indian students and families are affected
✔ Practical steps students should take now

Please share this with students, parents, and anyone planning to study in Australia. Accurate information is crucial at this time.

🎙️ Interview Feature – SBS Australian Tamil Radio

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by SBS Australian Tamil Radio on the topic of the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) — conducted entirely in Tamil to help our community understand this important change in plain language.

The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is the new national body that reviews government decisions, including visa refusals, cancellations, and nomination refusals.
It replaces the former Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and is designed to deliver faster, fairer, and more transparent reviews of migration and visa decisions.

Through this discussion, I shared insights on:
✅ How visa refusals can be appealed under ART
✅ What’s new compared to the previous AAT system
✅ Common mistakes to avoid in review applications
✅ Practical advice for applicants and migration professionals

🎧 Tune in to the SBS Australian Tamil Radio segment to stay informed about how ART impacts future visa reviews and appeals.

📍 Follow Arctic Tern Migration Solutions for more updates, practical visa guidance, and Tamil-language discussions on Australian migration topics.

🏗️✨ Big Congratulations! Positive Skills Assessment Approved — Civil Engineer 🇦🇺

We are thrilled to share another success story — a Positive Skills Assessment for a Civil Engineer has been officially approved.

👉 This is a major first step in the journey towards Australian permanent residency through skilled migration pathways.

📈 Why Civil Engineers Are in High Demand in Australia

Australia is investing heavily in infrastructure — major road, rail, renewable energy and urban development projects are underway across the country.
✅ Civil Engineers are consistently listed on Australia’s skilled occupation lists.
✅ The occupation is classified as a priority under several migration programs.
✅ This makes it one of the most strategic pathways to receive an invitation to apply for skilled visas.

✈️ Visa Opportunities for Civil Engineers

If your occupation is in demand, you may have strong prospects to apply for:

🧭 Subclass 189 Skilled Independent visa – No state sponsorship required.

🏢 Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa – Sponsored by a state or territory.

🌿 Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa – Sponsored by a regional area, often with faster processing times.

Civil Engineers often receive high points and strong ROI/EOI outcomes — making it easier to get an invitation compared to many other occupations.

📣 Thinking of applying as a Civil Engineer?

If you have engineering qualifications and relevant work experience, now is the time to act.
📝 We can help with:

Skills assessment preparation

ROI/EOI submission strategy

State nomination guidance

Visa application lodgement

✅ Your skills are valuable — Australia needs you.

Beware of illegitimate operators.
15/09/2025

Beware of illegitimate operators.

We’re cracking down on scam migration agents who have ripped off vulnerable visa applications by giving unlawful migration advice.

Field operations officers from the Department of Home Affairs, along with partner agencies, have located and removed four major scam agents operating onshore illegally in Victoria and Queensland and who had no right to be here — and located and detained a further three who are pending removal.

These seven are known to have facilitated more than 470 Protection visa applications between them, charging clients more than $1.4 million despite not being allowed to provide migration advice, and knowing they were not asylum seekers and would be refused a Protection visa.

Our focus is on scam agents providing unlawful migration advice about applying for a Protection (subclass 866) visa, charging high fees and encouraging applicants to make false claims. A Protection visa is for asylum seekers, not for people who just want to stay longer in Australia to work.

If you’re a visa applicant, scam agents may tell you to provide false or misleading information and false documents when applying for a Protection visa. But this activity is illegal and could result in you facing large fines and possible jail time for up to 10 years.

Anyone with information about potential immigration offences or suspicious activity is encouraged to make a report online to
