🥶❤️ HELP US BLANKET SALISBURY WITH LOVE ❤️🥶

This winter, some local families are facing a heartbreaking choice between keeping warm and putting food on the table.

Together, we can help.

On Sunday 28 June, we are collecting:

🛏️ New or near-new blankets
🥫 Non-perishable food items

Every single item donated will go directly to local families in need through trusted community organisations including The Mustard Seed Family Project and Cos We Care.

📍 Mawson Centre, Mawson Lakes

⏰ 10:00am – 1:00pm

You don't need to fill a trailer.

One blanket helps.
One tin helps.
One bag of groceries helps.

If you can't donate, please SHARE this post. It costs nothing and could help us reach someone who can.

Let's show what Salisbury is all about.

❤️ Community.
❤️ Compassion.
❤️ Looking after each other.

Together, let's make sure no local family goes cold this winter.

Workers compensation is not just a claim.

It’s:
• Your income
• Your treatment
• Your future

The difference between having a lawyer and not having one is simple:
One approach is reactive.
The other is strategic.

If you’re injured at work in South Australia — get advice early.

It can change everything.

“But I can’t afford a lawyer.”
Fair concern.

Here’s the reality —

In most workers compensation matters:
• Costs are regulated
• Insurer often contributes
• Fees come from outcomes — not upfront

The real question is:
Can you afford NOT to have one?

Because mistakes in this system are more expensive.

—

Happy to explain how costs work — no pressure. Deferred and No Win No Fee.

Most people don’t even know this exists.

Lump sum compensation.

WITHOUT a lawyer:
• Injuries under-assessed
• Wrong doctors used
• Whole Person Impairment underestimated

WITH a lawyer:
• Correct specialists engaged
• All injuries (including consequential) assessed
• WPI maximised under the Guidelines

This can be the difference between:

No entitlement
vs
Life-changing compensation

Not every injury qualifies — but many more do than you think.

A “rejection” is not the end.
It’s the start of a dispute.

WITHOUT a lawyer:
• Decision accepted
• Claim stops
• No further action

WITH a lawyer:
• Decision reviewed
• Dispute filed in the SAET
• Evidence obtained to overturn it

We overturn decisions regularly.

Because many are based on incomplete or one-sided evidence.

—

If your claim has been rejected — don’t assume that’s final.

This is where most claims go wrong.

WITHOUT a lawyer:
• Pressured into unsuitable duties
• “Capacity” decisions go unchallenged
• Return to work plans don’t reflect reality

WITH a lawyer:
• Suitable employment tested under s 18
• Work capacity decisions challenged
• Return to Work Plans corrected under s 25

You don’t have to accept a role that makes your injury worse.

But you do need to know how to push back properly.

—

If your duties don’t feel right — get advice early.

Do you know of this entitlement? ❤️

Do you know of this entitlement? ❤️

Compassionate leave is a separate entitlement. It doesn’t come out of your sick and carer’s leave balance.

All employees (including casuals) can take 2 days of compassionate leave (also known as bereavement leave) each time they meet the criteria.

You can take this leave if 👇
- a member of your immediate family or household dies, or contracts or develops a life-threatening illness or injury
- a baby in your immediate family or household is stillborn
- you have a miscarriage, or
- your current spouse or de facto partner has a miscarriage.

Full-time and part-time employees get paid leave đź’µ
Casual employees get unpaid leave ❌

“Injury accepted” does NOT mean treatment approved.

WITHOUT a lawyer:
• Treatment requests delayed or denied
• Surgery disputes drag on
• You get told “it’s not related”

WITH a lawyer:
• Medical evidence is strategically obtained
• s 33 treatment disputes are challenged
• Future surgery can be pre-approved

The difference?
How the evidence is framed.
Not just what your doctor says — but how it’s used.

—

We deal with treatment disputes every day.
