Ever wondered where the “sign here with an X” tradition came from?

Back in medieval England, people didn’t sign property deeds the way we do today. Instead, they often used wax seals featuring their own unique mark.

And if someone couldn’t write, an “X” could be used in place of a signature.

So that little “X” we still see today has a surprisingly long history! 🤯

From wax seals to digital signatures, property transactions have certainly come a long way! 🏡
