Our thoughts are centred with the Naismith family at this debilitating time surrounding the in-just loss of Sophia. Having raised so much awareness around the lack of accountability of offenders by the Malinauskas Government for penalising killer drivers. Despite all that has been raised, the system, yet again, has minimised the significance of Sophia’s life and the tragic loss felt by all who loved her in favour of the offender. It is crushing to hear that another innocent family has to go through this experience again. We will keep fighting and pushing until the penny drops. Please know until then, know we are with you and support your appeal every step of the way. ❤️ - Lauren x

Vickie Chapman has stated that this one law is the only concerning one out of the 6 we have wished for..

Thank you Vickie Chapman MP for your response, however we feel disappointed. Just because our loved ones aren't here anymore to fight that fight, doesn't mean you forget why they are not here.

If strict laws were put in place for AGGRAVATED killer drivers in thought of the victim and their families , maybe our loved ones would still be here today. Having lenient penalties and inconsistent sentencing is not sending a great message to our community.

°AGGRAVATED DANGEROUS DRIVING Inc - circumstances of aggravation include
* being over the legal limit of alcohol
*Driving at 45km or more over the speed limit
*Being involved in a police pursuit
*Being significantly affected by drugs

Thank goodness some common sense is prevailing. Thank You to Ms Chapman (Attorney-General),Kyam Mayer (Labor), Frank Pengallo (SA Best) who have thrown their support behind this campaign so far. It’s hard to believe in 2021 that this law has only just been legislated..

•Moving forward...

This is a massive accomplishment and such a heart felt movement for all families that have had to suffer with not only losing a child through negligent motorists on our roads but the adding grief of knowing that their child’s killer is still driving around on the streets, potentially endangering other people.

Thank you for taking action and seeing our perspective on this and thank you to and for kicking off this campaign and giving us all a voice that has been manifesting in our community.
