UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS & CRIME (UNODC) GLOBAL AWARENESS-RAISING CAMPAIGN ON THE 2030 AGENDA & THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

THURSDAY 15/10/2026 Women’s & Girls’ Empowerment The Kind of Leaders the World Needs Now—Dr. Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, has been awarded the National Medal of Science, one of America’s highest honors for scientific achievement.

Dr. Su is a visionary leader whose achievements embody the spirit of IMPERIA: Women whose ingenuity, leadership, and determination shape industries and define our future.

Every woman and child has the right to live free from violence, exploitation, and abuse. Women and children experience insidious forms of violence, exploitation, and abuse.

It happens in every country, and in the places, women and children should be most protected: their homes, schools, and online. Violence against women and children can be physical, emotional, or sexual.

And in many cases, women and children suffer at the hands of the people they trust. Women and children in humanitarian settings are especially vulnerable.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. The Agenda is made up of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets designed to free the human race from hunger, poverty and oppression.

In an emergency? Call 591.

Quick, reliable, and free support when you need it most. Accidents can happen anytime. Dial 591 for immediate assistance—be it medical, police, or insurance-related. It's toll-free and available across all mobile network operators: Econet, NetOne, and Telecel, etc.

The Insurance Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ) has launched the above call centre to provide proactive, real-time support to road traffic accident (RTA) victims, ensuring faster processing of short-term insurance claims.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a global plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets designed to free the human race from hunger, poverty and oppression. Part of this vision is creating safer transport systems and protecting lives on the road.

In September 2021, the first United Nations (UN) Road Safety Performance Review for the Republic of Zimbabwe evaluated the country’s progress in improving road safety and effective post-crash response. Improving support after accidents is essential to saving lives and reducing long-term harm.

To strengthen post-crash response, the Insurance Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ) launched a national emergency call centre. By improving emergency response and support for accident victims, the 591 call centre contributes to Zimbabwe’s road safety commitments and supports the broader goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
