Meet The Team

Kudzai Tichawangana
Our criminal law lawyer, Kudzai holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree having been awarded by Midlands State University. His interests are in criminal law and commercial law litigation. He will be graduating with a Master of Laws in Commercial law with the University of Zimbabwe in its next graduation ceremony. A good day for Mr Tich is that “not guilty” verdict for his criminal client. If you do not find him at the office drafting pleadings, you will most likely find him at Rotten Row.

Calexy Maunga
Calexy Maunga is an accomplished lawyer based in Zimbabwe, recognised for his extensive expertise and dedication to the legal profession. He holds an LL.B (Hons) degree from the Midlands State University and an LL.M. from the University of Zimbabwe. Further enriching his academic portfolio, he completed specialised short courses at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions, Due Diligence, and Legal Aspects of Corporate Financing.
As a practising lawyer at Maunga Maanda & Associates, Calexy offers strategic counsel and representation across various legal areas, including real estate law and conveyancing, notarial practice, corporate advisory, and commercial law litigation. His reputation extends to business and human rights litigation, public interest litigation, and arbitration, areas where he has made significant, demonstrable contributions.
Calexy is also an academic contributor, co-authoring a chapter in Aspects of Contemporary Company Law in Zimbabwe, published by the UZ Press. His passion for education and shaping future legal professionals is evident in his role as a part-time law lecturer at Africa University.

Mr Nyakureba
Passmore Nyakureba holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe. He was admitted as a partner in January 2014. He is based at the Mutare Office. He also holds an International Certificate in International Humanitarian Law offered by International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Nairobi Regional delegation. He has a passion in human rights litigation, Commercial and labour law. Passmore is a member of The Law Society of Zimbabwe and Manicaland Legal Practitioners Association. He has vast experience of sitting in boards of civic organisations, Church institutions and government agencies. He is also having both international and regional experience in his areas of practice which has seen him travel to countries such as the United States, South Africa, Kenya and Zambia.

Mr Maanda
He is a partner in the firm. He holds an LLB [Hons] Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and was admitted to practice law in Zimbabwe in 2000. He is a Conveyancer and Notary Public and is also involved in Human Rights work. He is a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe. He does a lot of criminal and human rights law with particular interest in constitutional law. In 2008 he was voted human rights lawyer of the year by the Law Society of Zimbabwe. He has vast boards experience having served as a board member at several civic society organisations. Mr Maanda is a Pastor, a marriage officer, marriage counsellor and divorce lawyer at the same time. He is a man of the people and you will find him laughing with everyone at the courthouse, right from the cleaner to the Judge. It took a few years of convincing this sharp mind to go back to school and he is now studying his Masters in Electoral and Constitutional Law with the University of Zimbabwe. After all, he is a walking law book.

Mr Maunga
Meet the boss, Mr Maunga. He is a Senior Partner in the firm. He holds an LLB [Hons] Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and was admitted to practice law in Zimbabwe in 2000. He is a conveyancer and Notary Public. He is also a member of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights [ZLHR]. He has vast experience in Corporate and Labour Law and was a part-time lecturer of Commercial Law I and II at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe. He is a past member of the Advisory Board of ZNNP+. He is also a past member of the board of the Audit Office Commission.
Mr Maunga is an arbitrator with expertise in construction law, infrastructure, energy and resources. He has experience in corporate governance, labour law, commercial and corporate law.
He is consulted widely by various organisations in their quest for excellence and is currently carrying out consultancy for SIRDC advising on Performance review and preparation of reform strategy. He has also participated in a number of international construction and mining law conference which include Construction Law- Inaugural Africa Conference (2018 in SA, the 19th annual SADC Lawyers Association Conference (2018 in Maputo), Africa Energy Indaba conference (2019) and Africa infrastructure conference- Pinsent Masons (2019).
He is SADC Lawyers Pro Bono – Member and Zimbabwe focal person. He is also a member of AFSA’S SADC Division Arbitration Centre.
You will never hear the boss’s steps as he walks into the office but you will surely find him next to you. He is as attentive to his work as a lawyer can be. He is the best lawyer for closing commercial deals. Trust him to handle your commercial transaction for you and to convince anyone, anywhere to what is in your best interests. He believes that settling cases is the best route for litigants but when necessary, take the other party to the guillotine in court.
