WHAT IS A PARENT CO-ORDINATOR?

A parent co-ordinator is a neutral third party appointed by the court to assist parents in resolving disputes related to their children after separation or divorce. The court considers various factors, including the severity of the conflict and the best interests of the child when appointing a parent co-ordinator.

Their role is to:

Facilitate communication: Encourage open and respectful communication between parents.
Mediate disputes: Help parents find common ground and reach agreements.
Make binding decisions: If mediation fails, the coordinator can issue binding decisions on parenting matters.
Monitor compliance: Ensure that parents adhere to agreed-upon parenting plans.
