WORLD REFUGEE DAY, 20 JUNE 🌍👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Hi everyone!
Yesterday, 20 June 2021, the world celebrated World Refugee Day.
This day was designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. It celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.

Why is it important?
While it is important to protect and improve the lives of refugees every single day, international days like World Refugee Day help to focus global attention on the plight of those fleeing conflict or persecution.
It is extremely important to shine light on the rights, needs, and dreams of refugees.

ACT IMMIGRATION & LABOUR CONSULTANTS strives to help and protect refugees and asylum seekers from all over the globe.
As humans, we should all build empathy and understanding for their plight and recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.

We should strive to support refugees to be protected and included in health care, education, and sport.

➡️What would you bring if violence or persecution forced you to flee your country?

The foyer of our office space is filled with stories from refugees around the world - sharing what they considered to be the most important thing that they could take with them after being forced to flee their country; some fled with no warning at all, others had weeks or months to anxiously weigh their options - until mounting danger finally forced them to leave their homes behind.

Our office space, as well as our page tries to bring light on the many challenges refugees and asylum seekers are faced with. Continue educating yourself on this, and the many other issues happening around the world.
