On 27 April 1994 South Africans voted in a democratic election for the first time. It remains one of the most significant days in our country's history and it is worth pausing to mark it.
Freedom Day is a reminder that the freedoms we exercise daily, to work with integrity, to hold independent views, to build institutions that we are proud of, were not always given. They were hard won, and they carry an obligation.
As Deneys, with a clear sense of who we are, that obligation feels particularly close today. Independence is something we have chosen deliberately. How we honour it, through the standards we hold ourselves to, the way we treat our people, and the service we give our clients, is how we give it meaning.
We hope you enjoy the long weekend and that this day offers a moment to reflect on the country we are each part of building.
