On 1 April 2025, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientso Ramokgopa, announced the launch of the Independent Transmission Programme (ITP).

The initiative encourages private sector investment in transmission and grid strengthening infrastructure. The pilot phase of the programme will focus on the construction of approximately 1164 KM of new transmission lines.

This ties in with the recent ministerial determination the Minister issued on 28 March 2025. These steps are vital for enhancing South Africa's national energy security through the expansion and strengthening of South Africa's transmission grid.

Today, we’re welcoming Daniellé Giannico, who is joining our Construction Team as an Associate.

Her construction and engineering law experience includes advising clients on the structure, preparation, and amendments of project-specific general and specific conditions of standard form construction contracts.

She also has been involved in various adjudication, arbitration, and High Court litigation matters under the JBCC, GCC, NEC, and FIDIC suites of agreements.
