Home Affairs says the backlog is cleared. So why did they recently extend the concession until June 2027 — announced less than 24 hours before the previous deadline expired?

If you have a pending visa, waiver or appeal, this is important.

Home Affairs has extended the temporary concession until 30 June 2027, which means:

✅ You can remain in South Africa while your application is pending
✅ You won’t be declared undesirable
✅ You may travel (with conditions)

But please take note:

⚠️ You must stick to your current visa conditions
⚠️ This does NOT apply to permanent residence applications

❗ Important warning:
If you have a visitor visa appeal pending for more than 3 months, you are NOT covered by this concession.

➡️ You may be required to leave South Africa by 30 April 2026
