Moses joined our Work Readiness Programme hoping to stay active and learn while he was unemployed. It became a turning point in his journey.

As he practised for interviews, improved his typing and learned about workplace behaviour, his confidence grew. With mentorship and support, he began to feel more prepared for what came next.

Today, Moses is working as a Business Consultant at Aluma Capital, and hopes to pass what he has learned on to future candidates.

Moses, we are proud of the effort you put into your journey and encouraged by your desire to help others.

Join us in congratulating him!

There is something special about seeing a young person arrive for an opportunity, grow in confidence and begin to see a future in their work.

Through our partnership with Volkswagen Newcastle, YES youth have gained experience across sales, finance, administration and marketing. We are especially encouraged to hear that the dealership has taken many youth into permanent employment over the years.

Thank you to the Volkswagen Newcastle team for welcoming young talent and sharing such generous feedback. We are proud of our colleague Karisen Appalsamy for the care and professionalism he brings to this partnership.

And to the youth: your commitment is at the heart of this story. We cannot wait to see where your journeys lead.

Someone’s next opportunity could be the start of a lasting career.

Through our Recruitment and Placement service, we help connect young people to learnerships, internships, YES programmes and permanent employment. We also help businesses find motivated people who are ready to learn, contribute and grow.

Each connection is a chance for a young person to gain experience and for a business to discover new talent.

That is how we help turn potential into progress, one opportunity at a time.

Looking for talent, or hoping to take your next career step? Connect with Africa Transformation Services.

Employment can be a starting point for something more. Through SEF 4, participants had the opportunity not only to earn an income, but also to gain practical work experience, develop new skills and explore entrepreneurship and income-generating opportunities.

For 50 participants, those opportunities translated into R520,477 in income/profit generated through businesses across furniture manufacturing, crafts, hairdressing, graphic design, recycling, agriculture and other services.

That is the longer-term potential of programmes such as SEF: helping people build experience, develop capabilities, start businesses and create pathways towards their next opportunity.

Meaningful employment should do more than provide work for today. It should help build possibilities for tomorrow.

Our heritage lives in the stories we tell, the languages we speak and the traditions we share with those who come after us. It connects us to our roots while giving each generation something to carry forward.

This Heritage Day, we celebrate the many cultures that make South Africa home, and the everyday moments of listening, learning and sharing that bring us closer together.

We believe every young person deserves to feel proud of where they come from and hopeful about where they can go.

As we honour our heritage, let us build a future where everyone has a place and an opportunity to contribute.

Happy Heritage Day!

Through the Social Employment Fund (SEF) 4 programme, 1,000 participants across Gauteng, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo contributed to meaningful work across Education & ECD, Health & Care, Greening & Environment, and Micro-Enterprise.

The impact reached far beyond the participants themselves. In Education & ECD alone, participants supported 86 ECD centres and 35 after-school programmes, reaching 32,576 children with learning, care, nutrition and developmental support.

Across the programme, participants also contributed to healthcare initiatives, agriculture and food production, environmental projects, recycling and community clean-ups.

It is a powerful example of what social employment can achieve when meaningful work and community impact come together around one shared purpose: Work for the Common Good.

Sometimes, a friend’s encouragement helps us find the courage to try again.

For Noluvuyolwethu Lelakhe Bella from Kariega, that encouragement came after two unsuccessful applications to the YES Programme.

In 2024, she applied once more, and this time she was accepted. After completing ATS’s Work Readiness Programme, she joined the Volkswagen Customer Interaction Centre as a Call Centre Agent, putting her skills into practice and growing in confidence.

When her 12-month YES contract ended, she was offered a permanent position with the same company.

Today, we celebrate her persistence, hard work and the opportunity that helped her move forward.

Congratulations, Noluvuyolwethu! Your journey is a reminder of why connecting young people to meaningful opportunities matters.

There is a moment when learning becomes confidence; when “I’ve never done this before” becomes “I can do this.”

At Africa Transformation Services, we want more young people to experience that moment and have the opportunity to build on it.

Through Learning and Skills Development, we bring together practical training, job readiness and skills for the future to help young people prepare for the world of work.

It is about more than gaining knowledge. It is about being able to apply it, contribute meaningfully and take the next step towards earning an income or building a business. When young people can put their skills to work, brighter futures become possible.

When young people are given the knowledge, skills and opportunity to shape their futures, something powerful happens: potential becomes progress.

At Africa Transformation Services, our vision is the sustainable economic empowerment of youth through education, skills training, job placement and entrepreneurship.

We believe every learning journey should lead somewhere, to meaningful work, a sustainable income, a growing business or the ability to create opportunities for others.

By connecting young people, businesses and partners around a shared purpose, we can open doors that strengthen families, transform communities and build a more inclusive economy.

Together, let us build pathways that turn possibility into lasting prosperity.
