Important notice: On 17 April 2026, the Department of Employment and Labour published the new BCEA earnings threshold in Government Notice 7384, confirming the level above which certain working-time provisions no longer apply automatically.

From 1 May 2026, the BCEA earnings threshold increases to R269,600.90 per year from R254 371.67
