In September 1997 a merger between Sibusiso Gamede Inc and Teresa Conradie Attorneys was concluded and the company Gamede Conradie Inc formed to establish a new entity that could meet the demands of the New South Africa more appropriately. Originally the formation of Sibusiso Gamede Inc was inspired by the dream to create a law firm under the management of black South Africans that would be positioned to play a leading role in the reconstruction and development of the country. On the other hand, Teresa Conradie Attorneys was established during 1996 to promote the position of female lawyers in the legal profession. The merger was facilitated in order to combine the skills and expertise of the two firms so that a more meaningful contribution can be made to the development, empowerment and eventual prosperity of South Africa and its people. In the year 2000 the name of the company was changed to MOTLA CONRADIE INCORPORATED. During 2008 Motla Conradie Inc merged with Rooth Wessels Maluleke Inc to form a company by the name of Rooth Wessels Motla Conradie Inc.
