Pretoria Advisory Council Meeting – 8 July 2026
Yesterday, 8 July 2026, the Pretoria Advisory Council (Conselho Consultivo) held a productive meeting during which a number of important matters affecting the Portuguese community were discussed and addressed.
The Council acknowledged the excellent work being carried out by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Portugal in Pretoria and expressed its appreciation for the commitment and dedication shown in serving the Portuguese community in Southern Africa.
The Councillors also presented reports on the meetings held in Lisbon in May, including the work undertaken by the Thematic Commission on Migration Flows and Social and Economic Issues and the Thematic Commission on Consular Affairs and Portuguese Community Participation.
The meeting also served as a formal farewell luncheon for the Head of the Consular Section in Pretoria, Ricardo Taveira Rodrigues.

Reunião do Conselho Consultivo de Pretória – 8 de julho de 2026
Realizou-se ontem, dia 8 de julho de 2026, a reunião do Conselho Consultivo de Pretória, durante a qual foram debatidos e analisados diversos assuntos de relevante importância para a comunidade portuguesa.
O Conselho destacou o excelente trabalho desenvolvido pela Secção Consular da Embaixada de Portugal em Pretória, reconhecendo o empenho, a dedicação e o profissionalismo demonstrados no apoio prestado à comunidade portuguesa na África Austral.
Os Conselheiros apresentaram igualmente os relatórios das reuniões realizadas em Lisboa, no mês de maio, no âmbito da Comissão Temática dos Fluxos Migratórios e das Questões Sociais e Económicas, bem como da Comissão Temática dos Assuntos Consulares e da Participação Cívica e Política.
A reunião constituiu igualmente um almoço de despedida formal do Chefe da Secção Consular em Pretória, Ricardo Taveira Rodrigues.
