Today, members of BLAsc UNISA Tshwane had the honour of attending the official launch of the Milestones of Freedom Campaign, an initiative led by Government Communications (GCIS) and The Presidency to commemorate South Africa’s democratic journey and the milestones that have shaped our nation.

The event provided an opportunity for young leaders to engage with our country’s history, reflect on the progress achieved through democracy, and reaffirm their commitment to building a more just, inclusive, and prosperous South Africa.

As student leaders and future legal professionals, we remain committed to preserving the values of freedom, constitutionalism, and active citizenship that continue to guide our democracy.

On 16 June 2026, members of BLAsc UNISA Tshwane had the privilege of attending the Youth Day Commemoration hosted by BLAsc Unisa Jhb.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of the youth of 1976, whose actions continue to inspire generations of young South Africans. Through meaningful discussions, reflection, and engagement, attendees were encouraged to embrace their role as active citizens and future leaders committed to justice, equality, and social transformation.

As we commemorate Youth Month, we honour the legacy of those who came before us and reaffirm our commitment to advancing the values of leadership, service, and social justice within our communities.
