Our Managing Director, Karen Eckley recently joined a panel of specialists at a Woman's Day conference to discuss a vital topic: the role of the lioness in sustaining family wealth and business for generations.

True wealth protection goes far beyond just signing a will. Like a lioness raising her cubs, women play a foundational role in educating the next generation, teaching financial resilience, and instilling the core values that keep a family unified.

Onder die tema “The Lioness – Raising Generations. Protecting Legacies.” is vroue gevier wat soveel meer as net ’n ondersteunende rol binne hul familie en boerdery vervul. Hulle is moeders, eggenotes, dogters, susters, lewensmaats, raadgewers en bewakers van die waardes, verhoudings en nalatenskap wat oor geslagte heen opgebou word.

’n Leeuwyfie is immers meer as net ’n moeder. Sy beskerm haar familie, waak oor haar gebied, leer die volgende geslag en dra met stille krag by tot die voortbestaan van haar trop. Sy verstaan dat haar besluite nie net vandag raak nie, maar ook die wêreld waarin haar kinders en die geslagte ná hulle eendag sal leef.

Net so dra die vroue binne familieboerderye ’n besondere verantwoordelikheid. Hulle help om familiewaardes te bewaar, tradisies voort te dra, verhoudings te versterk, toekomstige geslagte groot te maak en die familie se welvaart en nalatenskap te beskerm.

Die dag het ’n veilige ruimte geskep vir eerlike gesprekke, nadenke en nuwe perspektiewe rondom familienalatenskap, opvolgbeplanning, generasiekontinuïteit, waardes, moederskap, veerkragtigheid en die toekoms van familieboerderye in Suid-Afrika.

Coming Together for our Farming Community 🚜❤️

We are humbled to share that our team has come together to support the "Bring Vreugde: Boks vir ’n Boervrou" initiative.

Recent floods have devastated many farming communities across the country—destroying crops, roads, and homes. To offer a hand of support and a message of hope, our staff members personally contributed to curate and pack 7 special care boxes for the wives of farmers affected by these disasters.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for their generosity. It is a small gesture, but we hope these boxes bring a moment of joy and strength to the resilient women receiving them.

Not a False Alarm - SARS Begins Trust Penalty Enforcement!

The trust compliance deadline of 4 May 2026 has come and gone, and SARS has started actively issuing administrative non-compliance penalty notices to non-compliant trusts.

Where a trust has outstanding tax filings and has received a final demand - this now triggers automatic monthly penalties in line with a public notice by the Commissioner, and the longer the delay, the higher the cost. This is no longer a warning - it is enforcement.
