Jannes Griesel is very excited to welcome Inge McLaren to the Griesel & Associates Team.
“Inge McLaren is a new conveyancing attorney at Griesel and Associates Attorneys in Campbell Street and says she is looking forward to meeting the people of the area.
The 25-year-old is the daughter of a retired SAPS Brigadier, Gary McLaren. “There was always a sense of justice and the law in our house,” she said. “When I was at school I had always thought of being a prosecutor.”
McLaren attended Stirling High School and, growing up in East London, her first love was surfing. To this end she became SA U12 surfing champion and was rated second in the SA U17 championships as well as being nominated as a reserve for the SA surfing team when she was in grade 11.
“My mom and dad explained that surfing could only get me so far, and that I needed good academic qualifications to secure a future.“
“It was then that the academic bug hit me, a big surprise. I had never been really committed to studying before.” McLaren said that her final results surprised everyone, including herself. Inge studied her LLB degree at the Nelson Mandela University where she graduated cm laude.
Her intention has always been to make a difference, and McLaren completed her articles with a civil litigation firm looking into cases of injury and accident and ensuring justice for the victim.
Her fiancé, Justin Crous, who is a Dietitian at the Port Alfred Hospital, was unable to secure a transfer to East London, so she decided to find employment in Port Alfred.
“I looked through the phone book and established Jannes Griesel was looking for a conveyancing attorney, and so I applied. We spoke and Jannes made me feel very welcome.” McLaren was admitted as both an Attorney and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa in March 2021.
Having arrived in Port Alfred just a week ago McLaren is still finding her feet but is looking forward to meeting new people as well as the challenge of the job.”I am thrilled to be part of the friendly team at Griesel and Associates and look forward to meeting and serving the people of Port Alfred” she said.” Rob Knowles- Talk of the Town
