There is a trend going on about Customary marriages being dissolved by "Separation letters"
So the belief is that, because the Lobola was negotiated by the elders, and perhaps the customary marriage celebration were done at home on the same day "at home"
They believe that the same elders can still sit and hold a meeting together with the husband and wife and draft a separation letter which ends the customary marriage.
There is no such a thing as a Separation letter dissolving a customary marriage in South African law, such a marriage can only be ended by death or a court order also known as decree of divorce with the assistance of Lawyersπ©ββοΈ
That separation letter amounts to nothing, as long as there is no decree of divorce or death of one spouse, you are still very much married in Community of property.
