Today what started as a celebratory lunch for our brilliant legal team at in , turned into something far more meaningful.
A group of exceptionally well-presented young men walked into the restaurant alongside their teachers as part of a job shadowing fundraiser initiative for their school, . Their manners, pride and professionalism immediately stood out.
In speaking to them, we learnt that they were raising funds towards improvements for their school — and in a full circle moment, our Chairman, Eugene Beck, who was sitting with us , had matriculated from Greenside High in 1983.
You could see the emotion on his face as memories of his own journey came rushing back — the dreams, the uncertainty, the hunger to build a better future for himself against all odds. In that moment, these young men were not just students raising funds for their school; they were reminders of where he once stood, filled with potential and hope for what lay ahead.
Without hesitation, Eugene immediately committed to making a generous donation towards their fundraising initiative.
But today’s contribution was not simply made because he was an alumni.
It was made because at around their age, Eugene made the decision to change the trajectory of his life through determination, discipline and relentless hard work. Nobody opened doors for him. Nobody handed him opportunities. He built them himself.
And today, backed by the RoadCover family, his hope was simple:
To inspire these young men to believe that they too can become anything they choose to be.
Because sometimes all it takes is one moment, one conversation, one act of belief… to leave a lasting imprint on the next generation.
At RoadCover, we don’t only stand beside people after accidents happen. We believe in helping move society towards a state of excellence, purpose and possibility.
May the legacy of self-actualisation, fulfilment and opportunity continue to be passed forward. 💙
