Your landlord can sell. But your lease does not disappear with the sale.
Under South African law, a new owner is bound by your existing lease agreement. Your terms stay the same, your deposit transfers, and you cannot be asked to vacate simply because the property changed hands.
The exception: verbal agreements and month-to-month arrangements offer far less protection.
