On 21 September 2026, Fasken Associates Andile Msane and Lwazi-Lwandile Simelane participated in a community workshop on gender-based violence and domestic violence at the Moses Molelekwa Community Centre in Thembisa, together with representatives from ProBono.Org. The workshop was arranged in collaboration with the Tembisa branch of the Community Advice Offices South Africa - CAOSA and focused on providing practical information on domestic violence and the legal remedies available to survivors.

The session covered the legal framework relating to domestic violence, including the different forms of conduct that may constitute domestic violence, the circumstances in which a protection order may be sought, and the court process for obtaining one. The materials also provided practical guidance on enforcement, safety monitoring notices, and support services available to survivors. Participants received practical resources relating to protection order applications, including the prescribed Form 6 application for a protection order.

The workshop formed part of the broader collaboration between Fasken, ProBono.Org, and community-based activists to make practical legal information more accessible to communities.
