ADVOCACY, SOLIDARITY AND THE PURSUIT OF JUSTICE 💜

The Gauteng branches of BLASC came together on 23 September 2026 to participate in a march against femicide and gender-based violence.

With the participation of members, the BEC members and representatives of the BLA, the chairperson Vusi Maluela and the academic and researcher, Advocate Nomfundo, the march provided an opportunity to collectively advocate for the protection of women’s rights and demand urgent intervention from the Gauteng Provincial Government.

The march to the Office of the Premier underscored the importance of active citizenship, collective advocacy and institutional accountability in addressing femicide and gender-based violence.

As aspiring legal practitioners, our participation reflects the importance of engaging with societal challenges and advocating for justice beyond the classroom.

Advocacy is not merely about raising awareness; it is also about demanding meaningful change.
