Looking for a peaceful campsite in Worcester, Western Cape? ๐Ÿ•๏ธ๐ŸŒ„

Iโ€™ve just shared my latest camping vlog from Beloofde Land Camping in the Breede Valley, and if you love quiet escapes, mountain views, and proper switch-off weekends, this one is for you.

In this video, I show you what the campsite looks like, how we set up, and what you can expect when booking a weekend away here. If youโ€™re searching for Western Cape campsites, camping near Cape Town, or new South Africa camping spots to explore, this hidden gem deserves a spot on your list.

I know how important it is to find campsites that feel safe, scenic, and worth the drive so I share a real, honest look to help you plan your next trip.

Always on the lookout for great camping spots in the Western Cape? This one seriously impressed us โ›บ๏ธ

We spent a summer break camping at -Robertson in Robertson, about two hours from Cape Town, and it ticked all the right boxes. Think spacious campsites, clean bathrooms with hot showers, electricity points, braai drums at every stand and the Breede River right on your doorstep for cooling off on hot days.

Throw in peaceful mornings, friendly neighbours who actually help when things go wrong, and plenty of space to relax, nap and unwind, and youโ€™ve got a campsite that feels easy and enjoyable from start to finish.

If youโ€™re searching for camping near Cape Town, Robertson camping spots or a laid-back Breede River getaway, Iโ€™ve shared our full experience, including what to expect and why weโ€™d happily go back.

Not sure if anyone will even be awake at 04:50am tomorrow morning, but if you are, why not listen to me talk on Cape Talk as we close off with me chatting about why the North West province deserves a spot on every traveller's list ๐Ÿ˜

It's such an honour to be able to talk about my travels to anyone who wants to hear about them ๐Ÿ˜

I just returned from an incredible media educational trip with Dwarsrivier Tourism. I explored the charming "klein dorpies" of Johannesdal, Pniel, Kylemore, and Lanquedoc, and this valley left me absolutely captivated. I have so much to tell you about this community; its stories will make you want to pack your bags and extend your trip even before you book it!

I'm gathering all my thoughts and photos right now. Get ready for some amazing insights into this gem in the coming days; you won't want to miss it ๐Ÿ˜

In 2019, Courtney and I set off on a 13-day road trip and decided to camp at Augrabies Falls National Park. We thought, โ€œWhatโ€™s the worst that could happen?โ€ ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

We arrived in mid-October to 40-degree weather, armed with a borrowed tent and zero clue how to pitch it. We fumbled for hours, tying one end to the car tire while midges swarmed our faces and sweat soaked through every layer.

Just when we thought we had survived the worst of it, baboons showed up while we were cooking dinner. We defended our site like warriors on each side, all while I laughed uncontrollably at how chaotic it was. We cooked so fast, I still canโ€™t tell you what we ate.

Later that night, as we sat by the fire, I yelled at Courtney to shine his torch toward me, and there they were: two glowing red eyes charging straight at us. That was the moment I decided our camping dreams were officially over ๐Ÿ˜‚

But the jokeโ€™s on us because weโ€™ve become avid campers nearly three years later. Weโ€™ve built up our gear bit by bit, chased down hidden campsites, and now we canโ€™t imagine travel without it.

I love telling this story, partly because itโ€™s hilarious (yes, thereโ€™s a YouTube video!), but mostly because we swore weโ€™d never be the โ€œcamping type.โ€ And now? Just look at us ๐Ÿคฃ

When I received an email inviting us to the studio last week to share our love for travel on a brand-new show, I thought it was a joke. I replied, โ€œCool, when should we come in?โ€, and they asked if we could be there today.

It was a real pinch-me moment. Weโ€™ve been travelling to small towns across South Africa since 2016, and this opportunity felt huge.

We explore in our free time, make no money from it, and do it purely out of love for the journey and the stories we get to share. So to have a TV show want to feature us, Courtney and I, two people from Hanover Park and Eerste River, means more than we can put into words.

The show will be announced next month, and weโ€™ll share the air date as soon as we can. But today, weโ€™re just feeling incredibly proud of how far weโ€™ve come doing something we love ๐Ÿ˜
