Does a South African citizen require a visa for Gibraltar visa?
Yes, you will need a visa to come into Gibraltar except:
- Persons holding a Gibraltar Civilian Registration Card
- Persons holding an EU Residence permit
- Persons holding a Schengen visa
- A UK residence permit or UK visa does not entitle the holder to enter Gibraltar.
- Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is not required.
Passport validity:
(a) Have a “date of issue” less than 10 years before the date you arrive
(b) Have an “expiry date” at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave
The current rule still applies for South Africans entering Gibraltar on a cruise ship:
"Visa requiring nationals visiting Gibraltar on board a Cruise Liner and continue their voyage on the same Cruise Liner do not require a Visa to visit Gibraltar as the Cruise agent in Gibraltar will make arrangements with us to allow Visa requiring Nationals to be able to go ashore in Gibraltar. Passengers who are visa requiring nationals who wish to disembark at Gibraltar and not return to the ship would require a visa, and must have correct documentation for their onward travel."
