The Legal Behemoth is a legal association established to engage in legal matters and practice of law. The association aims to develop the legal skills of law students by creating a continuous mooting culture. The primary service rendered by The Legal Behemoth is the service of practical training that rests on the foundation of the mooting culture. This entity provides the relevant preparation and

training for students before they graduate. Through the course of legal practice, we aim to cover training, with the assistance and under the supervision of the UFS Law Clinic, in litigation, advising clients about their legal rights and responsibilities, and other matters in which legal advice and other assistance is sought. The Legal Behemoth also aims to connect and link with professionals through the relationship that the legal Behemoth has with other entities, grow in practical experience, graduate and be a practitioner.

On the 21st of May 2026c Legal Behemoth Moot Court Society, in collaboration with West College and the CUADS Office, hosted "Different, Not Less," a meaningful and interactive event centred on inclusivity, awareness, and the lived experiences of persons with disabilities.

The programme featured opening remarks by Nhlanhla Simelane (West College Prime), a presentation by Ma’am Martie from the CUADS Office, student testimonies by Junior and Magdalene, and a presentation by Legal Behemoth Chairperson, Omphemetse, inspired by Dr. Moseli’s work on disability and human rights.

Through engaging discussions, audience interaction, and shared experiences, the event encouraged important conversations around accessibility, inclusivity, and breaking stereotypes.

Different, Not Less; because inclusion begins when we recognise that difference is not deficiecy.

Law of Faculty of Law Open Day!⚖️✨

On Saturday, 9 May 2026, the Legal Behemoth Moot Court Society proudly participated in the Faculty of Law Grade 12 Open Day, where we had the opportunity to engage with prospective law students and introduce them to the world of mooting and legal advocacy.

Through interactive discussions and live Moot Court demonstrations, learners were given insight into courtroom procedure, legal argumentation, and the valuable role that societies such as ours play in shaping the legal journey of aspiring practitioners.
