Both the buyer and seller must have valid income tax numbers when the Transfer Duty Declaration is submitted.

Insurance Claim Shock: Family brings dead relative to bank as proof of death

A shocking incident occurred at a branch of Capitec Bank in Stanger on 18 February 2026.

A family who had gone to the bank to claim life-insurance benefits was reportedly asked to provide proof of death. They later returned carrying the deceasedโ€™s body and left it inside the bank, causing panic and forcing an immediate evacuation while police responded to the scene.
