There are bigger and more famous festivals, but I have to admit that Festival MED remains one of my favourite festivals in the Algarve. ❤️

From June 25 to 28, Loulé will once again be filled with that special atmosphere that only those who have been there can truly understand.

This year, there will be many interesting artists, including Seun Kuti, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Lura and Sérgio Godinho, but honestly, for me, half of the magic of MED isn't even in the concerts.

It's in wandering through the streets of Loulé, discovering new sounds, running into friends by chance, and enjoying those warm summer nights.

🍷Did you know that wine is being aged on the seabed in the Algarve?

Just off the coast of Marina de Albufeira, thousands of bottles of wine from local producers have been resting underwater for more than a year. Constant temperature, pressure, and complete darkness create unique conditions for the aging process.

Two Portuguese hotels made Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the best new openings of the year

American magazine Condé Nast Traveler included two Portuguese hotels in its Hot List 2026 — the annual ranking of the world’s most notable new hotel openings.

Palácio de Tavira in the Algarve opened in August 2025. The hotel is set inside a historic 18th–19th century palace in the heart of Tavira. Architecture studio Fragmentos preserved the building’s original character while adding a contemporary Medina wing with two rooftop pools and a spa. The hotel features 36 rooms and the Mirsal restaurant, which serves Portuguese-Arab cuisine.

Tarabel Lisbon is a nine-room boutique hotel located in Lisbon’s elegant Lapa"] district. It occupies a 19th-century palace with terraced gardens, a swimming pool, and views over the Tagus River. Its interiors are curated with antique furniture and objects sourced from around the world.

Portugal casually collecting luxury hospitality wins again… and honestly, Tavira being on this list feels very deserved soft launch for “everyone suddenly wants Eastern Algarve” era.
