THE FRAMING OF A JORDANIAN HUMANITARIAN RESIDENT IN UGANDA BY KENYAN DCI
We are writing this with pain, anger, and deep concern.
Because what is happening to Mr. Najimeddin Hisham Najim is not only unjust ,it is destroying humanitarian work and delaying the dignity of the dead.
Mr. Najimeddin is the Director of Muko Protection Agency, a humanitarian organization that has helped and supported more than 300 vulnerable girls across Africa and the Middle East ,including cases involving abuse, trafficking, abandonment, and exploitation.
Yet today, he is being treated like a criminal, based on allegations that do not match the facts.
WHAT HAPPENED?
📌 On 16 November 2025, Mr. Najimeddin was arrested at Malaba Border.
📌 He was held for 5 days in jail without trial.
📌 He has now been held in Kenya for over 2 and a half months with no real progress on the investigation.
📌 Most shocking: Mr. Najimeddin was only arrested and arraigned in court AFTER he wrote a formal complaint letter to the Director of DCI, asking why he was being held unfairly in Kenya and why his passport was seized without due process.
THE ALLEGATIONS ARE FROM 2014
Let the public understand this clearly:
These allegations are not new.
They are from 2014.
Yet Mr. Najimeddin has lived openly for years, worked openly, and helped people openly.
If there was a real case, why wait all these years?
Why arrest him now ,when he came for a humanitarian mission?
WHY WAS HE IN KENYA?
Mr. Najimeddin did NOT come to Kenya for recruitment.
He did NOT come to Kenya for trafficking.
He did NOT come to Kenya for business.
He came for ONE reason:
🕊️ A humanitarian mission to complete the repatriation process of the late Nakalema Shamim, a Ugandan migrant worker who tragically died in Iraq.
Because there is no Iraqi Embassy in Uganda, the required certification process had to be done through the Iraqi Embassy in Nairobi.
All documents proving this will be attached.
A DEAD GIRL’S BODY IS STILL WAITING
Because Mr. Najimeddin is detained, the repatriation process has been delayed.
⚠️ Shamim Nakalema’s body remains in Iraq, now placed in a government cemetery, awaiting repatriation.
A family is suffering.
A mother is crying.
And a girl who died far away is still far away.
This is not justice.
MANY GIRLS ARE NOW SUFFERING, INCLUDING KENYANS
Due to this detention, Mr. Najimeddin can no longer finish the humanitarian cases he was already involved in.
And the victims are not only Ugandans.
They include Kenyan girls and other African migrants who were already receiving help.
Some are stranded.
Some are suffering.
Some are waiting.
NAJIM HAS NEVER OWNED A RECRUITMENT COMPANY
We also want to state this clearly:
Mr. Najimeddin has never owned a recruitment company in:
Kenya
Libya
or any other country
His past role was limited to translation and interpretation services, not recruitment.
THE INVESTIGATION OFFICER ISSUE (VERY CONCERNING)
This is another serious concern.
The officer who has been actively handling the case is:
📌 Inspector Julius Ambuche
📍 DCI Headquarters – TOCU Department
However, the officer presented in court papers as the “investigation officer” is a different person.
This raises serious questions about:
transparency
accountability
and the integrity of the process
WHAT THE COURT WAS TOLD AND WHAT WE DISPUTE
During court proceedings, the DCI reportedly presented statements to the judge with the clear intention of denying Mr. Najimeddin bond.
Among the claims made were:
❌ That he was arrested while attempting to enter Malaba Border illegally
➡️ We strongly dispute this.
❌ That he runs “two licensed agencies in Uganda furthering human trafficking”
➡️ This is a serious accusation, but we dispute it completely.
❌ That he has “no fixed abode”
➡️ False. He is married and has five (5) children and is a resident of Uganda.
❌ That he refused to honor summons
➡️ False. He had been reporting to DCI Headquarters weekly.
❌ That he would interfere with witnesses
➡️ For 2.5 months while he was out, he never attempted to reach or interfere with anyone.
THE RESULT
Due to these disputed claims, the court issued extremely harsh bond conditions:
⚖️ Bond of KES 2,000,000
➕ Surety of KES 2,000,000 from a Kenyan citizen
This is not reasonable.
It effectively keeps him detained even without a proven case.
MISSING FILE & CRITICAL DOCUMENTS
We are also disturbed by reports that during this process, an important humanitarian file was taken from Mr. Najimeddin.
This file contained key documents proving his mission ,including the original birth certificate of the late Nakalema Shamim, which is essential for the repatriation process and for his defense.
WE HAVE PROOF
We will attach supporting evidence including:
✅ repatriation documents for Shamim Nakalema
✅ humanitarian mission documentation
✅ proof of family and residence
✅ statements confirming his translator role
✅ evidence of humanitarian support work
OUR APPEAL
We call upon:
the Kenyan public,
human rights organizations,
civil society,
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
the Ministry of Labour,
the DCI leadership
the Judiciary,
international bodies
to look at this matter seriously.
This is not a normal case.
This is a humanitarian crisis created by delays, misinformation, and injustice.
WE DEMAND
📌 Transparency in the investigation
📌 Fair and lawful due process
📌 A review of the bond terms
📌 Accountability for misleading court statements
📌 Immediate facilitation so he can complete the repatriation mission
JUSTICE FOR NAJIMEDDIN HISHAM NAJIM
A dead girl is waiting in Iraq.
A family is waiting in Uganda.
And a humanitarian is trapped in Kenya.
This must end.
