Thank you for your trust 🙏
To all of you who allowed me to guide your residency process — thank you for your trust, your time, and your kind words.

Every positive review, every message, and every smile in those photos means a lot. I’m truly honored when you let me share those moments — because your journey can inspire others too.

It’s more than paperwork — it’s about peace of mind, legal security, and feeling at home in Mexico.
Gracias de corazón.

For Families Applying Together

To ensure a smooth process and prevent unnecessary complications, it is advisable for parent/s to obtain their residency cards first (or at least one of them), as these are required when applying for their children. When the entire family arrives with the visa stamp, the initial application is generally straightforward. However, for renewals, it is essential to verify that the names listed in the passports match those on the birth certificates, as variations in parents’ names can cause delays and extra documents.

Important Information for Residency Applicants

When applying for a Mexican residency, the type of application is defined from the start; however, the documents required can vary based on each individual case.

One common situation arises when the applicant’s name on the passport does not fully match the name shown on primary civil documents, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate.
In these cases, additional documentation is required to demonstrate that all records refer to the same person. This may include legal name change documents, apostilled certificates, or other official records that clarify the discrepancy.

📢 Attention:
Starting in 2026, the government of Mexico will double the fees for temporary and permanent residency visas under Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM). The approx. numbers for
- 1yr temporary residency rises from ~5,570 MXN to ~11,140 MXN,
- Permanent residency jumps from ~6,789 MXN to ~12,988 MXN.

These increase are not only for INM, entry fees to museums and archaeological sites will also be affected.

The exact numbers will be confirmed once INM itself shows them in their website. I will keep you update.
