Familyyyyyy…
This moment is called holy balance. 😂
My late Godfather and former pastor used to always say, “Make sure you rest. Take your sabbatical.” At the time, I don’t think I fully understood how necessary that was because when you’re constantly on the go, you don’t realize you’re running low on gas until your body starts showing it.
Ironically, I had ChatGPT analyze my face recently and one thing it pointed out was that I looked exhausted. No Botox, no injections, nothing like that over here lol… but that observation made me pause. I slowly started incorporating more sleep and being more intentional about resting.
Then I started thinking about what truly exhausts me. The truth is, I genuinely love almost every area of my life. I love being an attorney, building businesses, serving people, teaching, creating, all of it. But sometimes I say yes out of necessity instead of saying yes because it’s truly what God has called me to do in this season. 😅
And if I’m honest, I believe God only has me focused on two or three things right now. Which means maybe this is also a season to rest, enjoy life, and make room for what’s ahead. I still believe marriage and children are part of my future, and I want to be healthy enough mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically to enjoy those blessings when they come.
So this weekend, right or wrong, your girl took OFF. I rested. I laughed. I spent time with family. I celebrated my friend’s daughter graduating from my high school and heading to Georgetown. I went shopping at Woodbury Commons (Andddd, I drove myself! For those if you don’t know, I do not like to drive). I ate good food. I enjoyed the moment.
And sidenote… your girl can fit into a size 4 at Loewe now. Barely 😂 but still.
Anyhow, I hope you all enjoyed this Pentecost Sunday differently than before and took a moment to thank God not just for purpose, but also for peace, balance, and rest.
