NEW VISAS POLICY FOR FOREIGN INVESTORS IN VIETNAM

The amended Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam takes effect from 1 July 2020. Accordingly, visas for foreign investors shall be made many types with different time limits depending on the capital contribution as follows:

ĐT1 (no more than 10 years): Foreign investors and representatives of foreign investor/investors (i) who invest in Vietnam with a capital contribution of VND 100 billion or more or (ii) who invest in sectors and trades eligible for investment incentives, geographical areas eligible for investment incentives;

ĐT2 (no more than 05 years): Foreign investors and representatives of foreign investor/investors (i) who invest in Vietnam with a capital contribution from 50 billion to less than VND 100 billion or (ii) who invest in industries and industries that encourage investment;

ĐT3 (not exceeding 03 years): Foreign investors and representatives of foreign investor/investors (i) who invest in Vietnam with a capital contribution from VND 3 billion to less than VND 50 billion;

ĐT4: Foreign investors and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam have contributed capital of less than 03 billion VND.
