Before shooting, think about camera movement, composition, exposure, white balance, lens choice, and the story you want the viewer to follow.
For the best results in post-production:
β’ Keep camera movements slow, smooth, and intentional.
β’ Avoid sudden pans, excessive rotation, and unnecessary movements.
β’ Maintain consistent exposure and white balance between shots.
β’ Give each shot enough duration for clean cuts and transitions.
β’ Capture wide establishing shots, detail shots, and natural movement through the space.
β’ Leave enough headroom and space for cropping, stabilization, and text when needed.
β’ When shooting windows, try to retain as much exterior detail as possible.
β’ Keep your footage consistent so color grading can be applied across the entire video.
The editor can enhance the footage β but good footage gives the editor more to work with.
When shooting and post-production work together, the final video feels cleaner, smoother, more cinematic, and more professional.
