The storms and tornadoes this week left a lot of families and businesses across Louisiana and South Mississippi dealing with damage, stress, and uncertainty.

If your home, business, or property was affected, remember this; the insurance company is never looking out for your best interest. Before accepting a quick payout, submitting documents, estimates, signing paperwork, or giving a recorded statement, make sure you understand your rights.

Insurance companies often move fast after major storms, offering quick and small payouts in exchange for a release. Too many people end up underpaid or frustrated during the claims process.

If you have questions about your insurance claim, property damage, or what steps to take next, my office is here to help. Day or night, 7 days a week. You will never pay me $1 out of pocket on your claim.

Stay safe, document all damage with photos and videos, keep receipts, and don’t throw anything away until your claim is fully reviewed.

📞 If you have questions, please call me. I’m here to help.

The last few weeks have been very busy for us. $295,000 in settlements in the last month. All on homeowners claims.

If you are having trouble with your insurance company, just give me a call. It’s absolutely free. You pay me nothing up front and nothing during the claim. If I don’t get you more than your insurance company is offering, even after my fee at settlement, then I will give you my fee.

Just call me.

Big news out of the Louisiana Supreme Court 👇

The Court just confirmed that an unconditional payment on a first-party insurance claim interrupts prescription.

Translation:
If an insurance company made any payment on your claim, even a small one, the clock may have been reset on your ability to pursue the rest of what you’re owed.

That means some claims people thought were “too old” might not be dead after all.

I’ve already had conversations with folks who were told they waited too long, when in reality, they may still have a valid path forward.

If you (or someone you know) had:

• A partial payment that didn’t come close to covering the loss
• And were told it was “too late” to do anything about it

…it’s worth taking another look.

I’ve handled hundreds of these claims and know exactly how carriers approach them — and more importantly, how to push back.

Feel free to reach out or send someone my way if there’s any question at all. Worst case, I’ll tell you where you stand. Best case, there may still be money on the table.

This ruling just reopened some doors.

I’m honored to have been elected to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Zachary Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to the Chamber leadership for the warm welcome. Since moving my office to Zachary last year, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the local business community, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of this great city.

As part of this issue's Keeping the Faith Feature, local attorney Erik Noland begins every prayer the same way: with thanks.

Unfortunately, I’m already seeing reports of wind damage across our area from last night’s storm. If your home or commercial building suffered damage — roof, siding, water intrusion, fencing — don’t ignore it.

Insurance companies move fast after storms. So should you.

If you have questions about your rights, coverage, or the claims process, reach out. I’ve handled hundreds of wind and storm claims, and I’d be glad to help. Just give me a call.
