Before we tuck everything away for winter, don’t forget about the grass. Fall is a great time to fertilize and help those roots get ready for the colder months ahead.

A few simple reminders:

🌱 Timing matters. Try to fertilize a few weeks before the ground freezes, and keep an eye on our local weather.

🍂 Clear the lawn first. Rake up those leaves and remove debris so the fertilizer can actually reach the soil.

🛒 Choose the right product. Look for a fall fertilizer designed to help strengthen roots through the winter.

📋 More isn’t always better! Follow the directions on the bag — too much fertilizer can actually hurt your lawn.

💦 Give it a drink. Unless the product directions or Mother Nature take care of it for you, your lawn may need some water afterward to help move those nutrients into the soil.

Just a little work now, and hopefully you’ll be thanking yourself when that green grass starts popping up again in the spring! 🌷🏡
