Judson “Jud” Waites, II was born in Alabama, but spent most of his youth growing up in Dallas, Texas and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jud attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina. While in college, he played defensive back on the football team, was a cheerleader, was on the Dean’s List, was a legislator in the Student Government Association, was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity,
and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He attended Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia, where he was on the Dean’s List and was a member of the Mock Trial team. After graduation from law school in 1992, Jud worked for a law firm in Montgomery, Alabama for 3 years, and then moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1995. He started his own litigation law firm as a sole practitioner in July of 1999. He is certified to practice law in Georgia and Alabama. Waites handles cases involving (1) personal injury and wrongful death cases (such as car wrecks and slip-and-fall cases), (2) business, employment and contract disputes (past due accounts, enforcing/disputing non-compete agreements in employment), and (3) defense of criminal charges, including drug possession, DUI and other alleged offenses. Jud is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, State Bar of Alabama, Due West United Methodist Church, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and MENSA. He enjoys sports, music, travel, and raising his two children.
