Now that all of our clients have officially been informed and the Virginia State Budget has passed...it is with exciting bittersweet news we share that after well over a decade Spinks Law PLLC will be closing our doors on May 31, 2024. Our Principal Attorney Kiah D. Spinks, Esquire (former) was recently appointed by the Virginia General Assembly to serve as a Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court Judge. She is now the Honorable Kiah D. Spinks and we are extremely proud and happy for her. We sincerely thank each of our clients and supporters over the years for making our firm successful and entrusting us with your legal matters.

We would like to Congratulate our Former intern Ms. Kenya Matthews on successfully completing Law School! She will graduate from Benjamin Crump College of Law formerly known as St. Thomas University College of Law in Miami, Florida where she had a full academic scholarship. Hats off to Kenya and we are very proud of you!

Court tip: It is important to arrive on time. If you are running late please contact your Attorney (if you have one) or let the Court know your status. Failing to do either may result in you being tried in your absence or having a warrant issued for your arrest.

The 1st Friday of each November is officially "Love Your Lawyer Day!" My Staff is the best! My intern brought me flowers today and my Assistant treated us to a healthy lunch! Truly Blessed! Thank You Ladies!!

And then all the Interns returned to school and even one to my Alma Mater (NCCU School of Law) and another one on her new career journey! While they will say they learned from us we learned alot from them, too. We are very thankful to God for affording us the opportunity to play a role in mentoring the next generation of Attorneys. If you know anyone who is looking to intern please send them our way. For now we will truly miss each of them and wish them all the best!

As a heads up! If you miss your Courtdate in any jurisdiction....its highly advisable that you contact the Court and your Attorney (if you have one) Immediately!! Please do not wait as there are things that can be done. On the other hand...it is equally advisable to not miss your Courtdate as you really may not like what might happen in your absence. Yesterday the United States Supreme Court made another landmark decision to end Affirmative Action for College Admissions. The law changes constantly and everyone needs to truly pay attention to whomever is selected into office.

The ruling is the culmination of decades of effort to end the consideration of race in admissions.
