When a client tells us they felt comfortable, understood, and supported throughout their estate planning experience, that's the kind of feedback we love to hear.

Because getting the plan right matters. So does getting the experience right. 💙

Settling an estate can be more expensive than families expect, especially when the process becomes complicated. And when family members disagree, the costs can climb even higher.

Probate isn’t just about distributing what someone leaves behind. There’s a process to work through, and how complicated that process becomes can make a real difference.

If you have a parent or loved one in assisted living, there are some important changes you should know about.

New Massachusetts assisted living safety regulations are now in effect, with updated requirements around fire safety, emergency preparedness, staff training, medical emergencies, overnight checks, and more.

We took a closer look at what the new rules mean and some of the questions families should be asking. Read our full blog to learn more:

You may be ruling out an important estate planning strategy because of one word: Irrevocable.

It sounds like, “I’m giving up everything.” But that isn’t necessarily what an irrevocable trust means.

Depending on how it’s structured, an irrevocable trust can be part of long-term care and MassHealth planning while still allowing certain rights and protections.

Before you rule it out because of the name, learn what an irrevocable trust can actually do:

You can have a will, a trust, a power of attorney, and a healthcare proxy sitting in a binder at home and still have gaps in your estate plan.

Your trust needs to be funded. Your deeds and account ownership need to be reviewed. Your beneficiary designations need to line up with the plan. And the plan needs to be revisited as your life changes.

Estate planning is personal, and the experience matters.

We want our clients to feel comfortable asking questions, understand the decisions they're making, and know they have someone there to guide them through the process.

Hearing that this client felt supported from beginning to end means a lot to our team. 💙
