They say a hung jury is a win for a person accused of a crime. Last week Josh got got a mistrial after a hung jury on a Capital Murder case. Though there was little publicity, this case and the hung jury are one we will never forget. The battle is not over.

Congrats to Josh, whose client S.C. is now home after spending nearly 3 years in jail, partially because of the pandemic, indicted for Capital Murder 3 years ago. Josh recently filed a demand for speedy trial, forcing a dismissal of all charges, and we were waiting for speedy trial to run before posting. Our client cannot be recharged for the crime.

Congrats to Josh Adams for securing a full acquittal by jury of a first degree felony Sexual Battery. A conviction would have likely resulted in our client spending the rest of his life in prison. Today, our client will start rebuilding his life. Ask your lawyer about verifiable results.

On Monday my client, a married father and disabled veteran, chose to fight a robbery with a firearm charge that stemmed from a road rage incident. He had exhausted all efforts to negotiate a plea, without success, even offering to plea as charged if the prosecutor would agree to waive the mandatory sentence to give the judge discretion. A conviction would mean serving between 10 years day for day up to the rest of his life in prison. Today he was convicted of only the lesser charge of misdemeanor assault and battery and will serve less than 2 weeks in jail along with some probation. He also won't lose the disability payments his family depends on. Thank you to everyone who helped me this week while Amy is on maternity leave!
