TriDialogue Mediation - Orlando

TriDialogue Mediation - Orlando My name is Shay Manibog and I am the Founder and Managing Owner of TriDialogue Mediation.

Just like many men and women, I too was in a bad place once in my marriage. I found that no matter how successful and how smart you are, nobody can prepare you for the mental and emotional stress that a Dissolution of Marriage (Divorce) can bring, and to add the legal components to it, getting out seemed like an insurmountable mountain to climb. In retrospect, I realized that no matter how hard an

d painful the experience was, there is always a silver lining to it, for me, came a career that I am passionate about, Mediation and Arbitration - to help people find their common ground in the most amicable way - so they can both move on without losing everything that they worked hard for to a very expensive litigation, be it Family, Divorce or any other civil litigation. I received my undergraduate in Business Administration at University of Saint Thomas, Labor Studies at San Diego State University and law degree as a dean’s list at Purdue University. Prior to managing TriDialogue Mediation, I have enjoyed 18 years of successful career in dispute resolution in a corporate environment particularly in labor/employee relations and workers compensation. However, it is only when I started assisting people in areas of Family and Elder Law that my career becomes purposeful. To all my clients that have trusted me in their most vulnerable moments, I am honored to have served my purpose in your lives. And to all our future clients, I look forward to helping you turn the page to your new chapter.

What if the biggest mistake in a family dispute isn’t the disagreement itself—but how we choose to handle it?

For many Filipino families who have built a new life in Florida, divorce, child custody matters, and family conflicts are rarely just legal issues. They often involve deeply rooted values, family expectations, financial concerns, caregiving responsibilities, and the desire to preserve important relationships.

In this Quora discussion, I explore why approaching conflict as a battle to win can create lasting emotional and financial consequences, while mediation encourages a more productive path centered on communication, cooperation, and long-term stability. I also share practical insights on how families can make thoughtful decisions that protect both their future and the people who matter most.

A question worth considering: Are you fighting to win the conflict—or working toward a resolution you can live with years from now? Read the full conversation below. 👇

Shay Manibog, J.D.'s answer: One of the biggest mistakes Filipino families, living in Florida, make when facing divorce, child custody issues, or family disputes in Florida is treating the conflict as a battle to win rather than a problem to solve. Many families focus on proving who is right, as...

Why Family Mediation Is Like GPS for Conflict: It Helps You Recalculate Before You Crash

Family disputes rarely begin in court. More often, they begin with misunderstandings, assumptions, and conversations that never happen.

Whether someone is navigating divorce, child custody, parenting plans, elder care decisions, business disagreements, HOA conflicts, or real estate disputes, mediation provides something many conflicts desperately need: structure. Instead of arguing over who is right, mediation focuses on what happens next.

One practical lesson often shared by Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator Shay Manibog is simple: preparation changes outcomes. Before mediation, gather financial documents, identify priorities, understand legal options, and focus on long-term goals.

Quick Mediation Tips:
✔ Listen to understand, not to respond
✔ Focus on solutions, not blame
✔ Separate emotions from decisions
✔ Keep children's best interests at the center
✔ Think about how today's agreement affects tomorrow's relationships

Common Mediation FAQ:
Do both parties have to agree?
Participation is voluntary.
Is mediation confidential?
Generally, yes.
Can mediation help avoid court?
Many disputes are successfully resolved before litigation becomes necessary.

Conflict itself isn't the problem. The response to conflict often determines the future that follows.

What Family Mediation and Flat-Pack Furniture Have in Common 🛠️😄

Mediation is a little like assembling furniture together: there may be confusion, strong opinions, and moments of “this makes no sense”… but with patience and guidance, it all comes together.

Family disputes can feel the same way. Whether it's divorce, child custody, parenting plans, elder care, or financial disagreements, everyone may have a different idea of where the pieces belong. Mediation helps organize the process, improve communication, and focus on practical solutions instead of blame.

Quick Tip: Prepare before mediation. Know your priorities, gather important documents, listen carefully, and focus on long-term solutions—not short-term frustrations.

Because the best resolutions aren't about winning the argument. They're about building a future that actually works for everyone.

Most construction and real estate disputes don’t start in court—they start with assumptions. A homeowner assumes expectations are clear. A contractor assumes changes were approved. An investor assumes everyone remembers the agreement. When communication breaks down, even simple issues can become costly disputes.

In this Quora discussion, I explore how unclear contracts, undocumented changes, and unresolved concerns often escalate into expensive legal battles. I also explain why mediation is one of the most effective tools for protecting investments, preserving relationships, and finding practical solutions without litigation.

A question worth considering: Are you preparing for a lawsuit—or preventing one? Read the full conversation below. 👇

The Best Construction Dispute Is the One That Never Reaches Court

Construction, real estate, HOA, and property disputes often begin long before lawyers become involved. A vague contract, an undocumented change order, a misunderstood property boundary, or a delayed payment can quickly transform a simple disagreement into a costly legal battle. Whether the issue involves family property, inherited real estate, business investments, HOA conflicts, or construction projects, one principle remains constant: prevention is often the strongest strategy.

According to Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator Shay Manibog, successful dispute resolution begins with preparation. Practical steps include verifying contractor licenses, documenting all project changes in writing, maintaining organized records, understanding lien rights, and identifying priorities before negotiations begin. Mediation can help parties address misunderstandings early, reduce legal expenses, preserve business relationships, and maintain greater control over outcomes. A helpful mediation tip: focus on solving the problem rather than proving fault.

The strongest outcomes are not built through confrontation alone. They are built through preparation, communication, informed decision-making, and mutual respect. Whether protecting a home, business investment, or family property, mediation creates a pathway toward clarity, stability, and practical solutions.
