The Delaware Elder Law Center

The Delaware Elder Law Center We provide solutions to families managing the care of a disabled loved one.

At the Delaware Elder Law Center we assist adult children and their parents in their desire to prepare for times of disability and to protect their assets from the devastating costs of long term care. This work encompasses three areas of the law: Estate Planning (wills, revocable trusts, financial and healthcare powers of attorney), Estate Administration (probate of the will), and Medicaid Crisis Planning (protecting assets from having to be spent down to qualify for Medicaid benefits).

What Happens If Mom Needs Care Tomorrow?

It's a question most families haven't fully thought through until they're forced to. Care needs can shift overnight, and without a plan already in place, families are left making major decisions under pressure instead of with a clear head.

The Delaware Elder Law Center helps families think through that question now, so the answer is already there if the day actually comes.

Did You Know? A Power of Attorney Doesn't Solve Every Problem.

A power of attorney is an important piece of a family's planning, but it's often mistaken for a complete solution on its own. Long-term care and Medicaid planning typically involve more than a single document to actually cover a family's needs.

The Delaware Elder Law Center helps families understand the full scope of what's needed, not just the piece most people have already heard of.

A Plan Is Always Better Than Panic.

When a care crisis hits, panic is often the first response, understandably so. But panic doesn't make decisions clearer; it usually makes them harder.

Having a plan already in place, even a basic one, replaces that panic with a clear next step, which matters enormously in the middle of a stressful situation.

The Delaware Elder Law Center helps families build that plan before it's needed.

Some Conversations Deserve More Than a Google Search.

It's tempting to search for answers online when a question about long-term care or Medicaid comes up, but general search results can't account for your family's specific situation the way an actual conversation can.

The Delaware Elder Law Center offers that conversation: personalized guidance based on your family's circumstances, not a generic answer pulled from a search result.

Let's talk. Call (302) 300-4390 or visit delawareelderlawcenter.com.

You Don't Need All the Answers Before You Call.

It's easy to put off reaching out because you feel like you should have a clearer sense of your questions first. In reality, that clarity usually comes from the conversation itself, not before it.

The Delaware Elder Law Center walks you through the process starting from wherever you are, not from where you think you need to be first.

The Best Time to Ask Questions Is Before You Need Answers.

Questions about long-term care and Medicaid planning tend to surface at the worst possible time, in the middle of a crisis, when there's no time left to actually sit with the answers.

Asking those questions earlier, before there's any urgency behind them, gives a family the space to actually understand their options.

The Delaware Elder Law Center welcomes those questions any time, not just when there's already a crisis prompting them.

Waiting Too Long Is the Mistake We See Most Often.

The families who end up with the most options are usually the ones who started planning before they needed to, not after. Waiting until a crisis forces the issue tends to narrow the choices available rather than expand them.

The Delaware Elder Law Center helps families start that planning early, while there's still time to consider every option rather than reacting to the ones left once time has run short.
