The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today posted Federal Register notices extending the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations of El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, and Nicaragua for 18 months.

Federal judge says DHS can no longer approve new applicants but it can continue to process renewals for now. If you currently have daca or a pending renewal, you should not be effected. If you have never applied for daca and are trying to apply for the first time, you are likely effected and should speak to an immigration attorney to better understand the implications of the court’s decision on your case and to determine the best strategy moving forward!
President Biden called the ruling “deeply disturbing” and said the Department of Justice would appeal the decision.
We stand with and support all the dreamers and call on congress to take action once and for all to create a permanent solution for these young people that are such valuable members and contributors to our community! If you support dreamers, I urge you to contact your congressional representatives and demand action! Stay positive and keep the faith!

Current recipients are unaffected for now, but the Texas court ruling could spur congressional action.
