Immigration can feel like one long game of “hurry up and wait.”

For months—or sometimes years—a priority date may barely move. A case may be stuck because of visa retrogression, and it can feel like there is nothing to do except wait.

Then the Visa Bulletin moves.

Sometimes it moves a little. Sometimes dates jump forward much faster than expected. And suddenly a case that seemed far away may be much closer to actually moving.

That is why the waiting period should also be a preparation period.

Use that time to make sure passports are current, civil documents are located, prior immigration history has been reviewed, addresses and family information are accurate, and you know which police certificates or other documents will eventually be required. Some documents should be gathered early. Others should be timed carefully so they do not expire before they are needed. FOIA might be one first step, too!

The September 2026 Visa Bulletin is a good reminder of this. The Department of State has advanced dates in a number of immigrant visa categories in recent months, while also warning that retrogression may become necessary again as demand changes.

That is the frustrating reality of the Visa Bulletin: a date can move forward, stop, or even move backward.

You cannot control the Visa Bulletin.

You can control whether you are ready when your turn finally comes.

Immigration really is “hurry up and wait”—but good preparation can make the “hurry up” part a lot less stressful.

Recibimos una excelente noticia: el proceso de deportación de nuestro cliente fue terminado después de la aprobación de su Visa T.

Un enorme agradecimiento al abogado Kevin Raica, quien manejó el proceso ante la corte de inmigración, mientras nuestro bufete manejó el caso de Visa T y la demanda federal relacionada con la Visa T.

Este es exactamente el tipo de caso que demuestra por qué la colaboración y la comunicación entre abogados son tan importantes.

En las redes sociales se desperdicia demasiado tiempo y energía viendo a abogados pelear entre sí, criticarse unos a otros y enfocarse en la negatividad. Mientras tanto, algunos de los mejores resultados ocurren cuando los abogados se comunican, respetan el trabajo y la experiencia de sus colegas y trabajan juntos hacia el mismo objetivo.

We received wonderful news that our client’s removal proceedings have been terminated following the approval of their T visa.

A huge thank you to attorney Kevin Raica, who handled the removal proceedings while our firm handled the T visa case and the related federal T visa lawsuit.

This is exactly why collaboration and communication among lawyers matter.

There is so much time and energy wasted on social media with lawyers fighting with each other, criticizing each other, and focusing on negativity. Meanwhile, some of the best outcomes happen when lawyers communicate, respect each other’s roles, share their expertise, and work toward the same goal.

Complex immigration cases often require different lawyers handling different pieces of the puzzle. No one has to do everything alone.

In this case, we worked together. We communicated. Everyone did their part.

The result: an approved T visa and termination of removal proceedings for our client.

Working together wins.

Primili smo prekrasnu vijest da je postupak udaljenja našeg klijenta iz SAD-a okončan nakon odobrenja njegove T vize.

Veliko hvala odvjetniku Kevinu Raici, koji je vodio postupak pred imigracijskim sudom, dok je naš ured vodio postupak za T vizu i povezani federalni sudski postupak.

Upravo zato su suradnja i komunikacija među odvjetnicima toliko važne.

Na društvenim mrežama troši se puno vremena i energije na međusobne svađe, kritiziranje kolega i negativnost. A neki od najboljih rezultata postižu se upravo kada odvjetnici komuniciraju, poštuju uloge jedni drugih, dijele svoje znanje i rade prema istom cilju.

Složeni imigracijski predmeti često zahtijevaju da različiti odvjetnici vode različite dijelove slučaja. Nitko ne mora sve raditi sam.

U ovom slučaju surađivali smo, komunicirali i svatko je odradio svoj dio.

Rezultat: odobrena T viza i okončan postupak udaljenja našeg klijenta.
