Charlie’s Holiday Newsletter – A Dog’s Perspective
Merry Christmas, furless humans!
I’m Charlie, your favorite four-legged friend, here to wish you all the happiest of holidays. As a dog, I’m pretty grateful for my built-in fur coat. It’s warm, snug, and I never lose or misplace it. The only downside? My poor paws have no fur, so they can get pretty cold in this frosty weather.
This Christmas has been extra special because my big furless human brother, Patrick, came home from Southern California. He claims no one needs a fur coat where he lives and even bragged that it was 78° when he left. Can you imagine? No fur and still warm? Sounds suspicious to me, but I’ll take his word for it.
My little furless human brother, Yami, had an adventure of his own. Dad decided to take him out for a “walk” in something humans call a snowsuit. He looked just like that Michelin tire figure from TV—adorable and hilarious. When I went over to give him a friendly sniff, he toppled over like a turtle on his back. (Classic!) But, no… Yami actually fell on his face this time, biting his lip. He cried and cried, and Dad swooped in to take care of him. I felt terrible, but Yami forgave me because, well, sniffing is just a dog thing. Dad eventually put him in his trusty red wagon, which was a much better idea. Honestly, a one-year-old walking in this weather? Not the brightest move, Dad.
Speaking of family, I’ve been thinking about my furry brother, Teddy, who’s no longer with us. He was big and gentle, and though humans at the dog park would sometimes freak out when he charged toward them, his wagging tail and goofy grin always won them over. This season of love reminds me how much I miss him.
But enough about the past. Right now, I’m feeling all the love. I love Mom and Corbin because they’re the best cuddlers ever. I love the big guy because he’s my go-to for food, walks, and letting me snuggle up in bed. Honestly, I’ve got it pretty good.
So, to all you furless humans out there: thank you for making this world so fun and full of treats. I hope your holidays are as warm and joyful as a dog’s love.
Love and Merry Christmas,
Charlie
