On September 18, former youth basketball coach Dwayne Murray pleaded guilty to s*xually abusing a child under the age of 13 in the city of Mount Vernon, Westchester County, New York. Murray led the Mount Vernon Junior Knights and served as an assistant coach for the Mount Vernon High School boys' basketball team.

NBC News covered a class action brought by attorneys Hillary M. Nappi of AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys and the Marsh Law Firm against Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. The lawsuit seeks damages for survivors whose childhood images were allegedly included in Epstein’s child s*xual abuse material collection.

"This lawsuit holds Jeffrey Epstein’s estate accountable for a crime that has never been fully addressed on its own terms,” said Hillary Nappi of AWK Survivor Advocate Attorneys.

The complaint asks the federal court to order the estate to work with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on a court-supervised identification process. That process would notify survivors shown in the collection so they can pursue individual claims.

AWK SAA Partner Hillary Nappi published an op-ed in the New York Law Journal, arguing Congress must act on AI-generated CSAM after the Seventh Circuit's ruling in United States v. Anderegg.

The court ruled that the First Amendment barred prosecution of Steven Anderegg for privately possessing AI-generated child s*xual abuse images in his own home, with the judges saying they would benefit from "additional guidance" from the Supreme Court on how outdated precedent applies to generative AI.

Hillary argues Congress already has the fix in hand. The Senate passed the ENFORCE Act unanimously in December 2025 with endorsements from NCMEC, Thorn, RAINN, and the National District Attorneys Association, and it has sat in the House ever since.
"Ask your representative why the ENFORCE Act is still lying on a desk," Hillary wrote. "There is no answer anyone should want to say out loud."

AWK Survivor Advocate Attorney's Hillary Nappi and Kathleen Devlin have secured a major win for a Pennsylvania family. A judge ruled that Keystone Central School District can't claim governmental immunity to avoid a lawsuit over three employees who groomed a student.

The district argued the law only protected K.R. if one of the employees had actually completed a s*x crime against her, not just tried to solicit one. The judge disagreed, ruling that trying to pressure or manipulate a child into s*xual activity is enough on its own.

Big update in the Omegle litigation: the bankruptcy trustee has moved to bring in the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) — a nonprofit child-safety organization — to review data Omegle retained on its platform for CSAM before the estate is wound down. A credible third party review means potential evidence is being handled responsibly, professionally, and by people with trauma-informed, specialized tools — which matters both practically and in showing the court is taking the claims seriously.

Omegle wasn't just shut down — its records didn't disappear, and now a credible child-safety organization is being brought in specifically to comb through them.

This is happening because survivors and their families never stopped pushing. Attorney Hillary Nappi has been one of the lawyers representing Omegle survivors for years — including C.H., the first child to sue Omegle back in 2021 — helping keep pressure on this platform long before it went dark and through the fight for accountability since. That’s what actually protects kids going forward.
