When attending open houses this holiday weekend there are several things to know as a buyer:
📄 Review and sign state disclosure forms for seller agency representation acknowledgement, covid, fair housing and more
🚪Respect the seller's rules for entering their home such as providing ID and contact info, removing shoes, wearing booties, socks, masks and gloves, etc
👂🏻👀 Many home owners have audio/visual recording devices in the homes, sometimes you can't even see them either. Be respectful of what you touch, say and do. Keep comments, questions and facial expressions to yourself and wait until you are away from the home to say anything. Seller's may hold your words and moves against you when reviewing your offer!
🚫 Understand the seller's agent has no obligation to tell you things like seller's personal info, why they're moving, where they're going or other confidential info as their hired representative.
These are just a few parts of the process so the best thing to protect yourself is hiring a real estate agent to represent YOU. You don't know what you don't know and it's not the seller's agent's job to tell you!
