I am grateful and proud to be in my 26th year as a financial services professional and agent at New York Life, counseling clients with professional guidance to protect their families and their retirement. Prior to NYLIFE, I spent 36 years in the media industry with a master’s degree in television production. My dear late wife Diane and I met when we were executives at CBS Television. Before to CBS, I worked at WABC-TV7 in New York where one of the weather forecasters was Spencer Christian. He later joined Good Morning America. He now works in San Francisco and is on vacation visiting New York City. He and I had breakfast today on the Upper West Side. I have been professionally counseling him and his wife. By the way, the weather today in NYC is sunny and cloudy, with a prediction for rain. But Spencer's always got a smile on his face!

I have not been posting for a number of months due, unfortunately, to having to focus my time on assisting my ailing wife, Diane Okrent, who sadly passed on July 5th. Diane and I were very much in love during the 41 years of our marriage. We celebrated that anniversary on June 9th, and have been blessed with our wonderful son, Victor Benjamin, his wife, Emily, and our two amazing granddaughters. Professionally, Diane was president of DO RESEARCH, her qualitative research company, where she moderated focus groups and conducted one-on-one interviews for corprate clients. Previously, she was director of program analysis for the CBS Television Broadcast Group, where she and I met in 1981 when I was director of communications for the CBS Owned Television Stations Division. I had been in the media industry for 35+ years, prior to joining New York Life 25 years ago. Diane was a graduate of Smith College, and was co-authoring a long-running study with alumna, Debbie Burke, tracking the careers of Smith College alumni. I am proud also of Diane's volunteer role as president of our synagogue, twice. While it has been a challenging time for me, I am back to providing professional guidance for my clients with strategies to help them protect their families and their retirement.
