Facebook tried to access my payment information so I realize this is for real.
I'm Opting Out too!
So now they are doing it, just announced on Channel 4 News. Facebook is charging all users starting Monday. You can do an opt-out by doing this. Hold your finger over this message and copy it. What Happens when you die without a will in Maryland

The answer to that is it depends on what family members you have left when you die.
A Spouse and children are the most common. Then of course there is the issue of the age of those children. Typically, the spouse and the children receive whatever is in the estate. This includes stepchildren who were officially adopted by the deceased. If a child had died but had children of their own, then their children would receive the parents share of the estate. If you die but don’t have a spouse or children then your parents, followed by siblings and grand parents
A stepchild can inherit if none of the above parties listed above are alive to inherit.

If a family member dies do you need to file an Estate case with the court?

That really depends on what the person who passed away has in their estate. Depending on the value of the assets you would file a small estate claim or a regular estate claim. The value of the estate is a combination of property, bank accounts and investment accounts. A small estate claim would be $50,000.00 and below. Anything above $50,000.00 will be a regular estate claim.
