I am beyond thrilled and humbled to be selected as a finalist for the TeamWomen Awards! A special thank you to Courtney Taylor for seeing me and the work I do for Tribal Nations. I'm grateful whenever I'm able to assist a Tribal Nation in asserting its sovereignty through land management and development and initiatives. Inspirational projects like the Lower Sioux Agency Land Transfer and the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation Proclamation fulfill my sense of purpose in my career and in life. These social impact projects allow me to assist Tribal Nations with honoring our ancestors and protecting our resources for future generations. Knowing that we're improving the world for our kids and sharing the stories of our elders through our land makes me proud to be an Indian law attorney.
As a finalist, I get to attend celebrations with the other honorees and some all-around amazing women, gaining insight on leadership and entrepreneurship from these proven pioneers in the MN business community. Congratulations to my fellow honorees, I'm looking forward to meeting you and learning about the innovative changes you're making.

Kwe Law Firm just turned two years old! I’ve been working on some exciting projects during quarantine that I’m eager to share. First, I was recently appointed as the Vice Chair of the Board of the Division of Indian Work (DIW). DIW has been a leader in finding innovative ways to meet the needs of the Indigenous community while staying safe during the dual pandemics of COVID-19 and racial injustice. All across our aboriginal homelands, Indian Country is celebrating a historic victory! Yesterday, the SCOTUS issued a 5-4 decision affirming that the Muscogee (Creek) Nation’s treaty based reservation in Oklahoma still remains today. “We hold the government to its word,” wrote Justice Gorsuch. The Court found that Congress had granted the Muscogee (Creek) Nation a reservation, and the United States needed to uphold that promise. “Develop yourself to be the right person.” That was one of the messages at the Reservation Economic Summit welcoming today. I’m attending RES2020 this week because I have that innovative entrepreneurial spirit. This is a great opportunity to develop my real estate and economic development work in Indian Country.

RES2020 is the Summit to attend for those looking for high caliber networking, winning teaming opportunities, business development sessions, one-on-one conuslting, all centered around the American Indian Enterprise.

Friday, February 7th, is the Lac Courte Oreilles 2nd Annual Reclaiming Our Children Round Dance at the Seven Winds Casino Resort. Kwe Law Firm is one of the sponsors.

A few weeks ago I hosted a ribbon skirt sewing clinic with my family. Several family members came over and either helped sew or cook. We’re looking forward to another weekend together!

Big Fish Golf Club is hosting the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College tournament and Dacotah Ridge Golf Club is hosting the 2nd Annual Lower Sioux Government Center Veteran’s Wacipi fundraiser tourney this weekend.
